But we aren’t aging! I’ve noticed that. Everyone else around is, but we still look amazingly the same as we always have. Such is the joy of being a Baby Boomer.

My name is Adelle and I am the blogger for Gold Agers. I just turned 50 and I have found that this is the best birthday yet. There is a lot of life, history, experience – good and bad, happy and sad – behind those 50 years, but that is what makes it a good age. Not everything is perfect but I think it is a great decade.

Baby Boomers are defined as the group of people born between 1946 and 1955. We are the largest chunk of the population in the United States and that means POWER. We influence music, movies, television, retail goods… you name it, we are the influencing generation. Finally, most of us are at the age where income is beginning to have a small part of it that is considered “disposable.” (Although I have yet to find my disposable income, I have faith it will be there soon.)

We also have issues that other age groups do not have. Health concerns, planning for the future, being sandwiched between children and parents… it is an interesting age group to be in. And since our issues and needs of our age group are far different than others, we need resources to depend on that can give us accurate information. I’ll bring you Web sites that can advise you so that you are empowered to make the choices that are appropriate for you.

Best of all, we have memories. We have great music, great films, the painful 60′s, and lives like no other generation has ever had. Being a Baby Boomer is a bit of a badge of honor. I’ll also find sites that remember along with us – sites that will make you laugh and make you cry.

My goal in this blog is to bring you the most valuable information on the Internet. How do you find information out about retirement plans? What does the fragile state of affairs with Social Security mean to us? How can we afford prescriptions? What are the health risks we are facing?
