Senior citizens have to be particularly careful about legal issues. It is important that you understand the legal terminology of wills, probate, and other financial situations. And it is also important you protect yourself against fraud and scams. Unfortunately, seniors are the target of a great number of financial scams that can rob a person’s life savings – the money that was intended to live on in the golden years, winds up in a thief’s pocket.
A podcast called Seniors & The Law is produced by a senior law attorney. He has been in practice in this particular field for over 35 years. I listened to his podcasting today and I would like to recommend him to you. He is easy to listen to, explains things, and brings you the information you need to know.

I love podcasts. I am turning into a podcast junkie! The beauty is that I don’t have to search for my reading glasses (which I never leave in the same place) and I can knit or do something else while I am listening. There are some good podcasts for Baby Boomers and Seniors and I will be bringing you links to find those great sources to listen to on your podcast player.
Now, if you don’t have a podcast player (itunes, Yahoo Music Engine, Window Media Player) there is a great one that is ultra easy to use. It is also free, which is nice too. It is set up like an old-fashioned radio – remember radios? Those were great – I used to consider my radio to be one of my favorite things and I miss the radio age, which probably explains why I love podcasts!
The podcast player I use is Golden Ear. There are complete instructions for installing it on the site. As I said it is free, and it is a pleasure to use. It is a beta but don’t let that worry you – I have had no problems with it whatsoever. And as a really great bonus, you can transfer podcasts to your ipod or mp3 player to listen while you are away from the computer.
Tomorrow I’ll tell you about some great podcasts. You can program them into Golden Ear or the podcast player of your choice. And then just enjoy – entertainment, education, news… whatever your interest, there is a podcast (or several) for you!
